WILDCO HESS SAMPLERS:

Similar to Surbers but suitable for gravel and cobble bottoms. Cylindrical with enclosed sides and an open top, it has two strong reversible handles for forcibly pushing and rotating the cylinder into stream bottoms. The sampler penetrates 3 - 6" (75 - 150 mm). Once in place, scrub the pebbles inside so the specimens are carried by the current into the net. Water flows in through the upstream window and out the downstream window into the collecting net and bucket.

WILDCO TURTOX® ZO™ NET:

Can also used as a kick net or big drift net. 52″ Long, easy to grip hardwood handles have a protective metal cleat at one end for pushing into bottom of stream or lake, making seine more secure and easier to hold in one place. Made from 600 micron Nitex bolting cloth. Net measures 1 meter wide by 1 meter tall and comes complete with weights on bottom edge along with mini dolphin adaptor and 125 ml plastic bottle mounted in center for collected plankton.

"DYNAMIC" INVERTEBRATE SAMPLING NET:

This net is ideal for sampling invertebrates in streams and other aquatic environments. The bag is constructed of 350 micron mesh and it is securely lashed to a 12″ (30 cm) D-frame. The bag is 24″ (60 cm) in depth. Wooden handle is removable and can be ordered in any length up to 5 feet. Net comes standard with a 24″ wooden handle. Inquire for longer handles.

WATERMARK BOTTOM AQUATIC KICK NET:

Net includes: 10″ x 18″ stainless steel rectangular frame; detachable, 60″ aluminum handle with stainless steel threaded attachment; and 10″ deep reinforced 500 m Nitex nylon net. EPA approved for Rapid Bioassay Assessment Programs.

AQUATIC SAMPLING NET:

Designed for use by benthologists and entomologists needing a strong net for fresh water collecting of bottom dwelling organisms, or sweeping in thick vegetation. Heavy cotton/polyester bag with non-rotting thread is secured to 12″ wide D-rim by hog rings and has nylon mesh bottom 8″ below rim. Extended 4″ skirt protects mesh from snags and wear. Mesh Size: Available in 150 or 500 Microns. Smooth, lacquered, hardwood, handles are 5 feet (152cm) long , 1-1/8" (2.9cm) diameter, permanently attached with epoxy adhesive to a 5/16" (.81cm) cadmium plated steel net ring. Nets are 70" (178cm) overall.

WILDCO BOTTOM AQUATIC KICK NET:

Hardwood handle is detachable. Heavy muslin reinforces entire bottom of net, as well as ring edges of net to provide added strength. Net is attached with clips. Ring size, 18″ x 8″; net depth, 10″; net material mesh size, 800 x 900 micron. Handle length is in two pieces and is 66″.

LAMOTTE D-NET with EXTENDABLE POLE:

Twelve-inch rim dip net is fitted with a heavy canvas bag approximately 6″ deep. Bag attached to metal frame with clamp rings. Bottom of bag is a mesh material of approximately 500 micron nylon. Canvas skirt extends three inches below bag bottom to protect mesh. Aluminum pole extends from 52″ to 84″. Replacement bags available.

SURBER SAMPLER:

The Surber Sampler is a small easily portable stream bottom sampler. It consists of two folding brass frames, which are affixed at right angles and locked by braces. After the horizontal frame is "seated" in the substrate, the silt is stirred up and each large rock within the frame is upended so the current can wash the bottom organisms into the net.

Custom mesh sizes are also available, but please allow a few weeks for manufacturing.

MINI-SURBER SAMPLER:

The Mini-Surber is designed for small streams and rivulets where the larger model will not fit, as well as for student use. The net is genuine 500 micron Nitex bolting cloth with taffeta wings. Sample numerous locations at once with your student volunteers and our low-cost unit. Net is 10 long, frame is 6″ x 6″ x 6″. Open base encloses area of 6″ x 6″ (0.25 square foot). Stainless steel frame for maximum corrosion resistance.

HESTER-DENDY MULTIPLE PLATE SUBSTRATE SAMPLER:

The round Hester-Dendy are used for substrate sampling of micro-invertebrate organisms found in bottoms of rivers, streams, lakes, etc. The sampler contains 14 water resistant tempered masonite plates that are smooth on both sides. The plates are 75 mm diameter and are separated by 8 single spacers, 1 double spacer, 2 triple spacers and 2 quadruple spacers. Weighs 2 lbs

MINNOW (GEE) TRAP:

Sturdily constructed of heavily galvanized high quality steel wire. Available in two mesh sizes. 16-1/2″ long x 9″ wide at the largest diameter.

CRAWFISH TRAP:

Same as the MT14 above, but with entrance holes enlarged to 2.25″.

PLASTIC MINNOW TRAP:

These traps have a longer life than comparable metal traps in alkaline, brackish and salt water because they are all plastic with no sharp edges.
The two halves hinge together. Measures 17" long x 9" wide at largest diameter with 3/16" (4.8 mm) square mesh for minnow-size fish, 7/8" (22 mm) diameter entrance hole

COLLAPSIBLE MINNOW TRAP:

Stores 1″ x 10″ when closed. Open clips and the trap automatically opens to 17″ x 10″ x 10″. Brown mesh zippered pocket for food and zippered access to catch.

MINNOW KEEPER:

Same as the MT14 above plus Gee Trap Extension (MT-EXT) below, but with flat ends to keep minnows in their own environment.

Measure water levels easily with a permanent, highly visible scale. Four inch wide, fiberglass gauges have bold, non-glare coated calibrations (meters, decimeters, centimeters). Stainless steel fasteners included for easy mounting. Imperial scale (feet, tenths and hundredths) also available.

GENERAL OCEANICS MECHANICAL FLOW METER:

These compact, mechanical flow meters are designed for measuring flow in lakes, rivers, canals, estuaries, sewage outfalls, and offshore applications. They are ideal for determining water speed, volume, or distance. These general-purpose flow meters incorporate a precision-molded rotor coupled directly to a six-digit counter that registers each revolution of the rotor and displays it similar to an odometer (up to 999,999 equal to approximately 14.5 nautical miles). The counter is located within the body of the instrument and is displayed through the clear plastic housing. Flow meters are properly balanced so they maintain a horizontal position when suspended by a towing line. After completing each sampling, simply remove the meter and record the reading and time. By subtracting the first reading from the second, the average speed over a given sampling time can be calculated. Each flow meter measures 8-3/8″ long, 1-9/16″ in diameter and includes 18″ of towline and a stainless steel connecting axle pin.
High-speed impeller measures from 10 cm/sec. to 790 cm/sec.
Low-speed impeller measures from 6 cm/sec. to 100 cm/sec..

GLOBAL WATER FLOW PROBE HAND-HELD FLOWMETER:

This water flow probe is a lightweight, easy-to use water velocity meter. It is highly accurate and comes complete with LCD digital display, internal ball bearings and a telescoping handle. Shipped in a padded case for safe carrying.
Probe measures both instantaneous velocity (accuracy 0.5 feet per second (fps)) and average velocity (accuracy 0.1 fps).
Reads in fps and meters per second (m/sec).
Range is 0.3-19.9 fps (0.1-6.1 m/ sec).

BRIGHT DYES™ FLUORESCENT DYE FOR POTABLE WATER:

Fluorescent water tracing dyes. NSF certified for use in potable water. Ecologically safe dyes for use in stream tracing, lake studies, flow mapping, storm and sewer analysis, pollution studies and leak detection. Two formulations: FWT Red, a specially formulated version of the dye Rhodamine WT; and FLT Yellow/Green, a formulated version of the dye Fluorescein. The fluorescent colors can be detected visually in most water conditions or with the use of ultraviolet light or a fluorometer. The dyes are temporary and will degrade naturally in sunlight (2-3 days for Red and 5-7 days for Yellow/Green) or with the addition of chlorine. Yellow/Green is resistant to absorption in organic matter and should be used in water with heavy sediment loads. 1 pint per 10,000 gallons.

BRIGHT DYES™ FLUORESCENT DYE TABLETS FOR POTABLE WATER:

These fluorescent dyes provide a higher degree of environmental safety and can be used on potable water. Depending on concentration, the dye color ranges from a bright dark red to magenta color. One tablet in 60 gallons of water gives a strong visual concentration of 1 ppm, or one tablet in 600 gallons of water will give a light visual concentration of 100 ppb. Sold in bottles of 200 Tablets.

BRIGHT DYES™ FLUORESCENT DYE TABLETS:

Bright Dyes Fluorescent Red Dye Tablets, Bottle of 200 One fluorescent red tablet in 60 gallons of water gives a strong visual concentration of 1 ppm, or one tablet in 600 gallons of water will give a light visual concentration of 100 ppb.
